Xenonas Iresioni: A charming guesthouse with traditional decor.

Since we drove to Arachova, spending the afternoon in Delphi and next day we were leaving to Meteora, we decided to spend one night in Arachova.

It was funny that we drove through Arachova to get to Delphi, then since we loved the village we spent one hour discovering the picturesc streets, then we head to Delphi thinking our Hotel was further on.

However after visiting the archeological site of Delphi we realized our hotel it was in Arachova and we loved the surprise, specially because the hotel was just perfect, cozy and elegant, and it was in our budget including breakfast, since we visited on May 2024 in a quiet season.

Ethnographic Museum of Arachova: The Folklore Museum in ArahovaGreece

The Ethnographic Museum of Arachova is housed in a neoclassical-style building located in the center of Arachova, near the town’s clock tower, known as “Ora.”

The building, constructed in 1908, was funded by a donation from the prominent Greek benefactor Andreas Syngros, with the land provided by the Arachova Municipality.

Originally, it served as the Elementary School of the village, replacing an older school built in 1830 with state funds and community contributions during the governance of Ioannis Kapodistrias.

Dine at the Best Restaurant in Greece:

While Arachova has many great restaurants, we had the best meal of our 25-day trip here.

If you have the time (because it’s a full Greek cuisine experience), we highly recommend trying To Tsoukali, an authentic Greek restaurant that we believe served us the best meal of our trip!

  • Save

To Tsoukali offers different menus depending on the season, and every dish we tried was recommended by the owner and chef, Yannis. He took the time to sit with us and not only discuss all the dishes but also gave us a heartfelt interview, which we feature in our complete vlog about our Arachova & Delphi trip.

As of September 2024, almost four months after we dined there, To Tsoukali still holds a 4.9 rating on Google with over 1,000 reviews.

To Tsoukali location

The restaurant is located near our hotel at Delfon, Arachova 320 04, Greece.

We’re not sure if they accept reservations, but we highly recommend calling ahead to ask. We visited in May 2024, which is not considered high season, and we were lucky to get a small table for two on the main floor.

We want to extend our thanks to Yannis from To Tsoukali for this amazing experience!

Check our interview with Yannis from To Tsoukali at our complete Arachova & Delphi travel blog.
