We, Eli and Serge from Discovering Destinations, had never heard of Unique Hotel São Paulo, a 5-star gem known for its iconic architecture and prime location on Avenida Brigadeiro Luís Antônio in the heart of São Paulo.
A few years ago, Eli’s best friend Miriam, who worked at Unique Hotel, encouraged us to visit. She raved about the hotel’s breathtaking design, unique concept, and stunning views from the Skye Restaurant and Bar on the top floor.
It took us three years (and plenty of her persistence!) to finally make it there. By then, Miriam had moved on for personal reasons, but not before helping us to buy a breakfast voucher for what turned out to be one of the best experiences in São Paulo.

Before becoming the city’s most talked-about landmark, the site was home to the Escola Panamericana de Artes de São Paulo. The transformation from an art school to a luxury hotel was nothing short of revolutionary. Our First Impressions
The moment we arrived in front of Hotel Unique, the first “WOW” factor hit us immediately.
The building’s inverted arc shape, lush gardens, and impressive size were breathtaking.
We found ourselves torn between taking photos and simply standing there, trying to absorb every detail of the majestic architecture.
As we stepped into the reception area, it felt more like entering a grand living room than a typical hotel lobby. The space was modern yet cozy, exuding a welcoming atmosphere. Miriam had advised us to ask for Vanessa or Nathalia, and it was Vanessa who greeted us warmly, suggesting we head upstairs for breakfast to enjoy the calm ambiance before 9 a.m.
A Unique Elevator Experience
Vanessa accompanied us to the elevator, and what came next was our second “WOW” moment.
As the elevator doors closed, we were plunged into complete darkness. Startled, we asked if the elevator was broken, but Vanessa reassured us. This was intentional—the first “unique” experience the hotel offers its guests.
The idea, she explained, is to heighten your sense of sight. When we reached the 8th floor and stepped out into the bright, beautifully designed Skye Restaurant, it all made sense. The contrast between darkness and light made us truly appreciate the stunning views, lush greenery, and intricate decor.
This moment reminded us of the importance of being present and grateful for our senses.
Breakfast at Skye Restaurant & Bar
The Skye Restaurant & Bar, often called the soul of Hotel Unique, was the perfect setting for our breakfast. Miriam had helped us purchase a voucher in advance, and we found the experience worth every penny—even at full price.
What’s Included in the Breakfast
The breakfast is an all-you-can-eat buffet offering:
- Hot Dishes: Scrambled eggs, grilled banana with caramel and cinnamon, sausages, canjica (a typical Brazilian dish), bacon, and couscous.
- Breads & Pastries: A variety of cakes, breads (including the famous Brazilian cheese bread – pão de queijo).
- Drinks: Fresh juices, champagne for mimosas, and an array of coffees like cappuccino, americano, and café latte.
- Customized Options: A QR code at the table allows you to order freshly made omelettes and other specialty dishes such as Brazilian classics like tapioca with cheese and banana, rabanadas and more.
- Fruits: They served us a selection of fresh fruits at our table, and additional options were available at the buffet.
Every item was of exceptional quality, and the service was impeccable.
Skye Restaurant Ambiance
The Skye Restaurant is a beautifully designed space, with every table positioned to offer breathtaking views of the surrounding neighborhood and Ibirapuera Park.
Since it was a sunny morning and there were no guests in the pool area, we were invited to step outside for photos.

We want to highlight that the pool area is exclusively for hotel guests. Even though we were invited to take pictures for our blog, we wouldn’t have been allowed to use the pool. However, if you decide to have breakfast at Skye, we can assure you that the pool is worth admiring, even from a distance.

From the moment we arrived, the staff at Hotel Unique went above and beyond to make our visit memorable. Vanessa’s warm welcome, Nathalia’s detailed tour of the hotel, and Wagner’s pride in sharing his 22 years of experience at the hotel all stood out.
